Terms of Use

1. Who sells

Items are sold by independent sellers, not by Metzee. Each seller is responsible for their listings, the item matching its description, shipping it on time, and any taxes and invoices for their sales.

Metzee provides the platform, takes payments on the seller’s behalf, and helps resolve problems between buyers and sellers.

2. Your account

You must be 18 or older. Give accurate details and keep your account secure — you are responsible for activity on it. One verified mobile number belongs to one account.

You can delete your account from Settings → Security. Records of past orders are kept as tax law requires, without your personal details.

3. Bidding and buying

A bid is a promise to buy at that price if you win. Winning bidders must pay straight away — within 30 minutes of winning (for a timed auction, of first opening the win, and at most 12 hours after it ends); unpaid wins may be cancelled, count against your account, and be offered to the next bidder.

Prices include GST where the seller charges it. Shipping is shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Razorpay.

You can cancel an order before it ships. After that, use returns or disputes.

4. Returns, refunds and disputes

Each store sets its own returns policy, shown on its listings. Items that arrive damaged or not as described can always be reported through the order within the return window.

If a buyer and seller can’t agree, Metzee reviews the evidence and decides. Refunds go back to the original payment method.

5. Metzee Credits

Metzee Credits are rewards from Metzee, such as for inviting friends or from our support team. They are not money you paid, have no cash value, and can’t be bought, transferred, withdrawn or used for tips. Refunds always go back to your original payment method, never into credits.

Credits can pay for up to 25% of an item’s price at checkout. Credits used on an order that is cancelled or refunded are returned.

Reward credits expire if you don’t earn or use any credits for 180 days; we remind you 30 and 7 days before, and checkout uses them first. Credits given by Metzee support don’t expire.

Metzee may remove credits gained through abuse, such as fake accounts or self-referrals.

6. Selling

Sellers pay a platform fee on item sales, plus GST on that fee, both shown in Seller Tools before and after each sale. Metzee issues a monthly tax invoice for it. Metzee also collects TCS and TDS where the law requires and shows them in Finance.

Every seller needs a tax identity to sell: a GSTIN, or — if not registered for GST — an enrolment number for suppliers selling through an e-commerce operator.

Earnings become available after delivery and a short hold, and are paid to the seller’s verified bank account.

Sellers must ship within their stated dispatch time, keep stock accurate, and answer buyers promptly.

7. Not allowed

Counterfeit, stolen, illegal or dangerous items; items that need a licence you don’t have; bidding on your own items or asking others to; buying from your own store to inflate sales; fake or abusive reviews; harassment, hate or sharing others’ personal details in chat or messages; moving a sale off the platform to avoid fees or protections.

Metzee may remove content, cancel orders, hold payouts or suspend accounts that break these rules.

8. Live shows and content

You keep ownership of what you post, and give Metzee permission to show it on the platform and to promote your listings and shows. Don’t post content you don’t have the right to use.

9. Liability

Metzee is an intermediary and is not the seller of items listed by sellers. To the extent the law allows, Metzee isn’t liable for indirect losses, and its liability for any claim is limited to the fees it earned from the order concerned.

10. Changes and law

We may update these terms; we’ll tell you about important changes in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
