Every store on Metzee had no sales once, including the good ones. A new store is not a warning — it is an absence of information, which is a different thing.
And some of what protects you does not depend on their record at all.
What is true regardless of their history
They were checked before they could take payments. Identity and a real payout account, in their own name. That does not make somebody good at selling; it does mean they are a findable person with money at stake. How sellers are checked before they can sell
The money is held until the item reaches you. A seller cannot take payment and disappear with it.
A dispute reaches a person. If what arrives is not what was described, that is decided on the evidence, and a new store has no standing to lose it with. How buyer protection works
A new store is on the lowest tier, with five listing slots. So nobody is moving large volumes before anybody has rated them.
The four things to look at instead of a rating
1. How they answer a hard question. Ask the worst thing about the item. A straight answer from a new seller tells you more than four stars from an old one.
2. Whether the description names flaws. A listing that volunteers a chip, a mark or a repair is written by somebody who does not want a return. That is the single best signal available on Metzee, old store or new.
3. Whether they are on camera with the thing. Turning an item over on request is hard to fake and is most of what a live show is for. How a live auction show works
4. Whether the photographs are theirs. Catalogue images on a second-hand item is the one real red flag in this list. Can I use the manufacturer's photo?
How to limit the downside
Start small. Buy the ₹400 thing first. If it arrives as described, you have learned something worth more than the four hundred rupees.
Bid your ceiling, not your optimism. True everywhere, more so here.
Keep it on Metzee. Any seller, new or not, who suggests paying directly or finishing the deal elsewhere has removed every protection on this page. That is the thing to refuse, and it is worth reporting. Fake Metzee websites and messages
What a new store cannot give you
A record. If the item is expensive, hard to judge, or frequently faked, waiting for a store to build one is a reasonable choice and nobody should talk you out of it. How to find a seller you trust
