Your store name becomes the address people share. Changing it later breaks every link that exists — a buyer's bookmark, a post you shared, a message you sent somebody.
So spend five minutes on it now rather than five months of broken links later.
What makes a good one
Short enough to say out loud. You will say it on camera, often.
Findable. If somebody half-remembers it, can they search their way back? Three generic words are harder to find again than one odd one.
About what you sell, or about you. Both work. What does not work is a name that promises a category you will drift out of in six months.
What is not allowed
Somebody else's brand. A name that suggests you are Metzee, or official, or verified in some way you are not. Anything misleading about what you sell.
A note on your own name
Using your own name is a perfectly good choice and many of the best sellers here do it. It also means the store is permanently tied to you, which is what you want if you are the reason people buy.
Questions people ask
Can I change it later?
You can, and the old address stops working. Treat it as a last resort.
What if the name I want is taken?
Add something specific rather than a number. "potteryworks2" tells a buyer nothing; "potteryworks-pune" tells them something true.
Can I use my shop's existing name?
Yes, and you should if people already know it.
Does the name affect search?
Less than being consistent and being findable by the thing you actually sell.
