Once a parcel is with a courier, the courier is the only party who can change where it goes. Not the seller, and not Metzee.
So the order of actions matters here more than usual.
1. Call the courier, now
With the tracking number. Tell them the correct address.
Many couriers will accept a correction or hold the parcel at a hub for you to collect, especially within the same city. Policies vary and asking costs nothing.
Do this first because there is a window. A parcel that cannot be delivered is returned to the sender after a small number of attempts, and once it is on its way back the options narrow sharply.
2. Tell the seller
Not because they can redirect it — they cannot, once it is in the network — but because:
- They may have a relationship with that courier and more leverage than you.
- They need to know a parcel may be coming back, so it is not a surprise.
- If it does come back, they are the person who re-sends it.
Message them from the order with the tracking number and what the courier told you.
3. Then consider what went wrong
If the address on the order is wrong, that is worth knowing for next time: it was fixed at checkout and there is no self-service way to change it afterwards. Can I change my delivery address?
If the address on the order is right and the courier still says otherwise, it is usually a PIN code that does not match the locality, or a landmark the driver could not find. Give them a phone number and a landmark — that solves most of them.
What costs money
If the parcel goes back and has to be sent again, somebody pays the second delivery. If the address was wrong because of your entry, that is reasonably you; if the seller mis-entered it, it is reasonably them.
Agree it in a message rather than assuming. My parcel went back to the seller
The detail that fixes most of these
A reachable phone number. Couriers in India call before delivering far more often than they rely on the written address. A wrong number is a failed delivery even when the address is perfect, and a right number rescues an imperfect address.
What not to do
Do not raise a dispute as the first step. At this point the parcel is recoverable and a phone call is the fast route. Raise it if it becomes undeliverable or lost. How to raise a problem
More: I entered the wrong address, nobody was home for the delivery, how to find and track an order.
