Sports equipment is bought to be used, which makes this an unusually practical category: buyers want to know whether the thing still works, not whether it looks new.
Show the working part
Cricket bats — the face, the edges, the toe, and the grain. Say whether it has been knocked in and oiled, and whether the toe has been guarded or repaired. Rackets — the frame all round, the grommets, the string condition and when it was last strung. Tension matters and people will ask. Footballs and shoes — the stitching, the sole, the stud wear. Gym equipment — the coating on weights, the bearings and cable on anything with moving parts, and whether it is complete.
The question behind all of these is the same: can I use this on Saturday?
Say the model and the year
Equipment moves in model years, and a two-year-old model at a sensible price is a good buy that nobody can find if the listing does not name it. Read the model off the item and show it.
Size and specification
Bat size and weight, racket grip size and weight class, shoe size measured inside, weight plate bore diameter. These are the details that decide whether a buyer can use the item at all, and they are a five-second job on camera.
Repairs and servicing
Re-gripped, re-strung, toe-guarded, re-glued, serviced. All ordinary; all declared. A declared repair is a maintained item. An undeclared one is a dispute.
On branded gear
Show what the item carries and say where you bought it. Nobody authenticates equipment over a video call, so what sells is the record, not the assurance.
Delivery
Long, awkward and often heavy. Packing sporting goods deals with the length problem, which is really a price problem.

Questions people ask
Should I restring a racket before selling?
Only if you say so and say with what. A fresh string job is worth real money to a buyer who would otherwise pay for one.
Does a bat need to be oiled before posting?
Say what state it is in rather than preparing it for sale. Buyers have their own views and would rather do it themselves.
Can I sell used gym equipment?
Yes. Weigh it before quoting delivery; this is the category where a wrong weight hurts most.
