How to sell on Metzee

What selling live actually involves — a camera, a table, an hour — and every step from opening a store to getting paid.

Selling here is less complicated than it looks and more work than it sounds. Both are worth saying.

What it actually is

You, a phone, and the things you are selling. You hold each one up, say what it is, say what is wrong with it, and let people bid. An hour of that can clear a table.

You do not need a studio, a presenting voice, or a face on camera. You need the item in frame and the ability to answer a question.

The steps

1. Open a store. Name, details, and verification — identity and a payout account in the same name. The whole sequence.

2. Set up delivery before you list anything. What you can post, what is local only, what has to be collected. Each listing carries its own answer, which is the point — a scarf and a framed piece of glass do not share a setting. How delivery works.

3. List some items. Title people would search, honest condition, measurements, a few photographs.

4. Schedule a show and tell people. Regularity beats timing. The same slot every week will do more than picking a clever hour.

5. Go live. Have everything on the table before you start. Sell in an order that opens strong.

6. Pack and send. The parcel is part of the product.

7. Get paid after the items reach their buyers. When and how.

What it costs

A commission on each sale, plus GST on that commission charged on top, plus anything you choose to absorb like delivery or a discount. The full breakdown.

Who this suits

Variable stock. Condition that needs explaining. Things that photograph badly — textiles, pottery, anything with a sheen. One-offs.

It suits identical units at a fixed price much less. If you sell the same sealed box forty times, a listing does that better than a show does.

In your language

The seller side is in eleven Indian languages and English. How that works.

Questions people ask

Do I need a company or a GST number to sell?

No company. Whether you need GST registration depends on your own turnover and circumstances — ask an accountant about your case.

Do I have to show my face?

No. You have to show the item.

How much can I make?

Depends on what you sell and how often. We will not invent a figure: do the arithmetic with your own items per hour and your own prices.

What can I not sell?

Counterfeits, anything requiring a licence you do not hold, live animals, alcohol, weapons. The full list is in the seller terms.

Can two of us run one store?

Yes — teams. The owner keeps sole control of the money.

How long does verification take?

Usually quick. A blurred document or a name that does not match the bank account is what slows it down.
