A refund is approved first, then processed, and it goes back the way you paid.
The two exceptions
Metzee Credits you used come back to your balance, not to your bank. That is where they came from.
Cash on delivery is refunded by the store, directly to you. That money never passed through Metzee, so there is nothing on our side to send back. If a store is slow about it, raise it — we can hold their payout, which is the thing that moves them.
How long
UPI is usually quickest. Cards take longer, because the money goes through the card network and then your bank's own queue — and that last step is not ours.
What we control is when it is sent. What we do not control is when your bank posts it.
If the card is closed
The money still goes back to the card, and your bank has a routine process for moving it to your account. That is a conversation with them.
Partial refunds
Sometimes the right answer is not all of it — a flaw that was not described but is not worth returning the item over. That is agreed between you and the store and comes back the same way.
Questions people ask
When does the clock start?
When the refund is approved. Approval and processing are two steps and the first is the one that needs a decision.
What if I paid partly with credits?
The credit part returns to your balance and the rest goes back to the card or UPI account.
What if my refund has not arrived?
Check how you paid and the window for that method. If it is past that, send us the order and we will show you when it left.
Does a replacement take longer than a refund?
It is a different thing rather than a slower one — the store sends another item instead of money.
