Yes. The payouts screen states it: Minimum payout {min}. Below that figure, nothing is sent — You can withdraw once you have at least {min}.
The figure is set by Metzee and shown on your screen rather than written here, because a number in a blog post would be wrong the first time it changed.
What happens to a balance below it
Nothing bad. It waits. The money is yours, it stays in your available balance, and it goes out with the next payout once the total clears the minimum.
Nothing expires and nothing is deducted for sitting there.
Why a minimum exists at all
Because every bank transfer costs something to send. A marketplace paying out ₹40 would spend a meaningful share of it on the transfer — so the floor exists to stop small amounts being eaten by the cost of moving them.
The second threshold, which is yours
If you have an automatic schedule, you may also have set Only if the balance is at least (₹) — your own floor, above Metzee's.
That is worth checking if a payout you expected did not arrive: you may be waiting on a number you chose. A small week then rolls into the next one rather than making a tiny transfer.
So three things can hold a payout
In the order worth checking:
- The balance is not available yet — undelivered, inside the 24-hour settlement hold, or frozen by an open return. This is by far the commonest reason and has nothing to do with the minimum. Why is my payout taking so long?
- It is below Metzee's minimum.
- It is below your own threshold, if you set one.
For a new seller
The practical consequence: your first few sales may not pay out immediately, and that is the minimum rather than a problem. Once a store is selling steadily the floor stops being relevant.
If you want the money sooner, set the schedule to When I ask and withdraw once you are over the minimum, rather than waiting for a weekly run. How often am I paid?
What the minimum is not
Not a fee. Nothing is charged for a payout, and nothing is charged for one that is too small to send.
Not a cap. There is no maximum.
