There is a list of things you cannot sell. Lists get argued with; reasons do not, so here are the reasons.
Things that are illegal to sell
Wildlife products, antiquities, controlled substances, weapons. The rule is not ours and no amount of documentation makes an exception.
Things that need a licence somebody must hold
Medicines, supplements, some foods, some services. The question is not whether the item is fine — it is whether you hold what the law requires to sell it. We cannot check that for you.
Things that are somebody else's to sell
Counterfeits, and replicas carrying a brand's marks. The whole argument.
Also: photographs you did not take, and listings copied from another shop. Intellectual property.
Things that are unsafe
Recalled goods, especially anything for children. Items with a safety part missing.
Live animals
No.
The ones that catch honest sellers
Antiquities. A genuinely old object can fall under rules you did not know existed. Check before listing.
Food without the licence. The rules apply here exactly as they do anywhere else.
A replica described honestly but still carrying a logo.
Anything you cannot prove is yours to sell.
If you are not sure
Ask first. A question costs nothing; a suspension costs your store.
Questions people ask
What happens if I list something banned?
It comes down. Repeatedly, and the store goes.
Can I sell second-hand goods?
Yes, and plenty do. Describe the wear.
Can I sell something I inherited?
Usually. Antiquities are the exception worth checking.
Who decides what counts?
Us, against the rules and the law. Ask before rather than after.
