Your first live show, start to finish

A plan for the hour: what to have ready, what order to sell in, and what to say when nobody is bidding.

The fear is being bad on camera. The fix is having a plan, because almost nobody is bad on camera when they know what happens next.

Before you start

Everything on the table, in the order you will sell it. Not in a box behind you.

The listings already made. Do not write descriptions live.

Camera propped, daylight, flash off. The setup.

A glass of water. You will talk more than you expect.

The order to sell in

Open with something good. The first item decides whether people stay.

Put the odd thing in the middle, when the room is warm.

Keep one strong item for the end, and say so early — "the saree at the end" is a reason to stay.

The first two minutes

Say who you are, what you are selling today, and how long you will be on. Then pick something up. Do not wait for the room to fill; it fills because you started.

Per item

Hold it up. Say what it is, what is good, what is wrong. Give the starting price. Open the bidding. A structure that works.

When nobody bids

It happens, it is not personal, and there are moves.

At the end

Say when you are next on. That one sentence is the difference between people coming back and people forgetting.

Then: who paid, who has not, and start packing. What happens after.

Questions people ask

How many items should I have?

Enough to fill the time without rushing. Better to end with stock left than to run dry.

Do I have to show my face?

No. You have to show the item.

What if I make a mistake?

Say so and carry on. A seller who corrects themselves reads as honest.

What if my connection drops?

Come back. The room generally waits, and the item you were on is still there.

Next: camera and light.
