Medicines, no. Prescription drugs, pharmacy medicines, anything presented as treating a condition — none of it, regardless of what you hold.
Supplements and cosmetics sit in Beauty & Health and are allowed, with conditions.
Where the line actually is
Not the shelf it came from. What the listing claims.
A moisturiser is a cosmetic. The same moisturiser described as curing eczema is being sold as a medicine, and the description is what moved it.
So the rule that catches honest sellers is not what you stock, it is how you write. "Clears acne" is a claim. "A face wash with salicylic acid" is a description.
For supplements and cosmetics, the real conditions
Sealed, in date, in original packaging. Nothing decanted, nothing relabelled, nothing with the batch code removed.
No health claims. Say what it is and what is in it.
The licences that apply to the goods apply here too. Metzee is a marketplace, not an exemption — if you would need something to sell it in a shop, you need it to sell it here. Do I need a licence?
Not opened, not part-used. Obvious, and it still happens.
What is never allowed
- Prescription medicines, in any quantity, including leftovers
- Anything requiring a pharmacist
- Unapproved or imported medicines
- Devices making a medical claim
- Anything described as treating, curing or preventing a condition
Why Metzee is strict here
Because this is a category where being wrong hurts somebody physically, and because a live auction is a persuasion format. A seller enthusiastically describing what something did for them is exactly how a health claim gets made by accident in front of a room.
Watch that in your own show as much as in your listing. How to go live
Vintage and collectible packaging
An old medicine tin as a collectible is a collectible — empty, sold as an object, with no suggestion that the contents are usable. Full, it is not.
