Can someone else collect it for me?

Usually yes — the code is what matters, not the face. Tell the seller first.

Usually yes. Handover is confirmed with your pickup code, so whoever has the code and turns up during the store's hours can collect.

Do this first

Tell the seller. One message from the order: who is coming, and roughly when.

It is not a rule you have to satisfy so much as basic courtesy that prevents a problem — a stranger arriving asking for a parcel is a situation a seller handles much better when they were expecting it.

What the person needs

  • Your pickup code. Send it to them.
  • The address and the store's hours, which came with the order.
  • Ideally your order details, in case anything needs checking.

What they do not need

They are not signing anything on your behalf and they do not need your account. The code is the authorisation.

The thing to get right

Tell them what to check. Whoever collects should look at the item before leaving, because collection is the one moment where a problem can be sorted out in person rather than by dispute.

Someone who collects, drives home and hands you a parcel they never opened has given away your best opportunity.

If they cannot make the hours

That is the same problem as being late yourself, and it has the same answer: message the store before the collect-by time. They can extend it, or offer a courier price that converts the order to a delivery. What if I am a little late collecting.

For a seller reading this

Someone other than the buyer arriving with the right code is the normal case, not a red flag — people send a family member, a driver, a colleague. Confirm the code, hand it over, mark it collected.

If someone arrives with no code, do not hand the item over. Ask them to get the code from the buyer. That is the whole point of having one.
