Two things do the work here, and neither depends on trusting a particular store.
The card never reaches the seller
Payment goes through the payment provider. The store gets your name, your number and your delivery address so they can post the parcel — not your card details, which they never see and could not store.
So a dishonest seller has nothing of yours to misuse. Who can see my delivery address?
The money is held until the item reaches you
This is the bigger one. Your payment does not go straight to the seller — Metzee holds it, and it becomes the seller's only after the item is delivered and a short hold passes.
Which means a seller who takes your money and sends nothing has not taken your money. How buyer protection works
What that covers
- Nothing arrives. Refunded.
- It arrives damaged, wrong, or not as described. Raise it within 7 days of delivery, whatever the store's returns policy says.
- The seller cancels. Refunded in full, including delivery.
Refunds go back to the method you paid with.
What it does not cover
Changing your mind, unless the store's own policy allows it.
Paying outside Metzee. Everything on this page stops applying the moment money moves directly between you and a seller. That is also against the rules, and a seller suggesting it has told you how they handle problems. Is Metzee safe to buy from?
A bid you regret. Paying too much is not a fault that can be raised.
What you should never be asked for
Your UPI PIN, your bank password, or a one-time code read out to a person. A code is for you to type, never to tell anybody — including somebody claiming to be from Metzee.
And there is no "release fee" or "customs fee" to free an order. Messages that are not from Metzee
If the money left your account and no order appeared
That has its own page and its own fix, and it is usually not what it looks like. Money left my account but there is no order
If something still goes wrong
Raise it from the order. A dispute is answered within 48 hours and decided on the evidence, with the money still inside the system while it is decided. How long a dispute takes
