Where exactly do I collect from?

The area before you bid, the full address after you pay. Why it works that way.

Two different things, at two different moments:

  • Before you bid: the area. Enough to know whether you can get there.
  • After you pay: the full address, plus the seller's note and their hours.

Why the address is held back

Because a pickup point is often somebody's home, their market stall or a relative's shop — a real place with a person in it. Publishing the exact address to everyone browsing a listing would make offering collection something only shops could safely do, and most of the sellers who offer it are not shops.

The area is enough to answer the only question you need before bidding: can I get to roughly there?

What arrives once you have paid

  • The full address, with its PIN code
  • The seller's note, if they left one — "ring the bell twice", "ask at the chemist", "gate is round the back". This saves more phone calls than anything else on the screen.
  • Hours: {hours} and Open {hours} — the days and times they will actually be there
  • Your pickup code, which is what you show at handover
  • A collect-by time

If the area is too vague to judge

Ask in the chat before bidding. "Which part of Jayanagar?" is a reasonable question and sellers answer it — they want you to be able to collect.

What they will not do is give the full address to the room, and that is not evasiveness.

The thing to check before you bid, not after

The hours, more than the address. A point you can reach but only on Tuesdays between two and four is a harder commitment than one slightly further away that is open daily.

You agree to the collect-by terms before bidding rather than after winning — the seller's screen says so — so the time to work out whether you can realistically get there is then. What hours can I collect?

If you turn up and cannot find it

Call the number on the order. That is what the seller's note and their phone are for, and a wrong turn is not a dispute.

If the place is shut during their stated hours, that is different and worth reporting from the order the same day — the clock stops and it is looked at. I went to collect and it was not ready

For multiple points

A store can have more than one, and you choose at checkout — Choose a pickup point. The names are there to tell them apart, so a seller who has labelled them has done you a favour.

More: how pickup works, how to collect an order, can it go to a locker or a shop.
