Can I visit a seller in person?

Only where a store offers pickup, and only at the place it published. Why that limit is the protection.

Where a store offers pickup, yes — at the pickup point it has published, during the hours it has published. Anywhere else, no.

That is not Metzee being cautious on your behalf. It is the only version of meeting in person where both of you are protected.

What a pickup point is

A place the store has set up for handovers: a name, an address, opening hours, the days it is open, and a note if there is anything to know on arrival.

You choose it at checkout, you get a deadline to collect by, and the order is already paid before you go. What is a pickup point?

Why only there

The order exists. Paid, recorded, with a collection deadline and a route if something is wrong. A doorstep deal has none of that.

The address is the store's, published deliberately. You are going somewhere a business chose to publish, not somewhere a stranger suggested.

Both of you are covered. If the item is not what was described, you are still inside the normal protection. Cash in a car park is outside all of it. How buyer protection works

What to refuse

A different address from the published point. If the location changes, cancel and ask the store to update the point rather than meeting somewhere ad hoc.

Any request for cash on arrival. The order is already paid. Someone asking for money at handover is either confused or not the store.

"Let's do this outside Metzee and save the fees." It saves the seller a commission and costs you every protection on this page. It is also against the rules. Is Metzee safe to buy from?

What a store does not have to give you

Its home address. Plenty of stores are run from home and use a shop, a studio or a market stall as the point instead. A store with no pickup point is not hiding; it simply posts things.

A visit to see stock. There is no browse-in-person feature, and a seller is under no obligation to host you.

If you just want to see it first

That is what a live show is for, and it is better than a visit for most things: the seller turns the item over, answers, and shows you the flaw while you watch. How a live auction show works

Ask in the chat. "Can you show me the back?" is the most normal request in the room.

For sellers

Publish the point honestly — the real days you are open, because they feed the buyer's deadline. Use the note for the thing you say on the phone every time: which gate, which floor, ask for whom. How to offer pickup
