Do the prices include tax?

Yes. Your bid is the price including GST, and the invoice shows how it splits.

Yes. Every price on Metzee includes GST. Your bid is the final price of the item, not a figure that tax gets added to.

What that means at checkout

Winning bid is the price including tax. The only thing added is delivery.

So a ₹1,000 winning bid is ₹1,000 for the item. There is no tax line that appears afterwards and no premium. Is there a buyer's premium?

Where you see the split

On the invoice. It is built by taking what you paid and working the tax backwards out of it — which is what "inclusive" means in practice — and it prints Total (incl. GST) at the bottom.

The split depends on where the seller and you are:

  • Same state — the tax shows as CGST and SGST, half each.
  • Different states — it shows as IGST.

That is a legal presentation requirement, not a difference in what you pay. The total is the same either way.

If the seller has no GSTIN

Then they issue a Bill of Supply instead of a tax invoice, with no GST shown.

That is correct rather than an omission. A seller selling under an ECO enrolment number rather than a GSTIN is a legitimate seller — the enrolment route exists precisely so smaller sellers can trade without registering for GST. Do I need a licence to sell?

Either way, the price you paid is the price you paid.

What the rate is

Set by the seller per item, with a default for their store, because the correct rate depends on what the thing is. You do not need to know it to buy — it is already in the price.

For a business purchase

If you need the invoice in a company name with your GSTIN on it, that has to be on the order when you place it. Adding it afterwards means asking the seller to reissue, which is possible for them and much easier the same week than two months later. How to download an invoice

What is not in the price

Delivery. Shown separately and checkable against your PIN code before you bid. How do I know the total before I bid?

A cash-on-delivery fee, if you choose that on a buy-now listing that offers it.

For sellers reading this

The tax comes out of the price the buyer paid, not on top of it — so when you set a start price you are setting a GST-inclusive figure. That is worth knowing before you price a show. What comes out of a sale
