How do I know the total before I bid?

Check delivery to your PIN code first. Then the only thing left to change is your own bid.

Do this before you bid, not after you win: enter your PIN code and check what delivery costs.

The delivery panel on a listing has Check delivery to your area and Enter delivery PIN code. Put yours in and it tells you what it would cost to send to you — or Free delivery where the seller covers it.

What the total is made of

  • Your winning bid, whatever the bidding reaches
  • Delivery, which you can check in advance as above
  • Nothing else. No buyer's fee.

So once you know the delivery figure, the only variable left is the number you choose to bid. That makes the arithmetic yours to control, which is the point of checking first.

There is no buyer's premium

If you have bought at an auction house, you will be used to a percentage added on top of the hammer price. Metzee does not do that. You pay your bid plus delivery.

Metzee's fee comes off the seller's side, out of what they receive. It is not added to what you pay. Is there a buyer's premium?

The one thing that can still change

Delivery, if you win several items. Within one store, wins often combine into one parcel and one charge — but that is a seller setting rather than a rule, and some stores charge for each later win.

So the honest version is: for one item, the total is your bid plus the delivery you checked. For several, it is usually less than the sum of the parts. Do I pay delivery on every item I win?

At checkout

Order summary shows the item, Delivery — or Delivery (combined) where wins have been grouped — and Total. Winning bid is what you bid; the total is that plus delivery.

If a discount code applies, it comes off there.

Pickup instead

If the seller offers collection, that is usually free and removes the delivery line entirely. Pickup from {place} at checkout, and you choose the point. Can I collect instead of having it posted?

Why you should check before bidding rather than after

Because a win has a short payment window, and discovering a ₹400 delivery charge inside it is a bad moment to be doing arithmetic. Thirty seconds with your PIN code at the start of a show covers every item in it.

And if the seller does not deliver to you at all, you want to know before you bid — not at checkout, where you get This store doesn’t deliver to your address.

More: how delivery is charged, how to pay for something you won, why is delivery costing so much.
