Every charge on Metzee, in one place

Every fee a buyer or seller can meet, what sets it off, and where it shows. The fixed ones are named exactly; the ones that are a setting say so.

One page, so you never have to assume. Where a number is fixed in the code it is written here. Where it is a setting, this says where to read your own.

What a buyer pays

The price, and the delivery. That is the whole list. There is no fee to bid, no fee to win, no membership and nothing taken for watching a show.

Cash on delivery adds a fee to the cash you hand over, set by the store to cover what its courier charges for collecting money. It is shown before you order.

An uncollected pickup order is the one charge a buyer can be surprised by, and only on pickup. A store may keep a share of what you paid if you never collect — 7% unless it set its own, and never more than 20%, which is the ceiling in the code.

What a seller pays

A commission on item sales, and GST on that commission. The commission is a percentage of the item price, set by Metzee and shown on your own Seller Tools screens — it is a setting rather than a constant, so this page will not print a number that may not be yours.

GST on the commission is 18%, and it is charged on top, not taken out of it. Where the commission on a sale works out at ₹8.00, the GST on it is ₹1.44 and the seller is charged ₹9.44. Both appear as their own lines, which is what makes them claimable.

Nothing to list. Putting something up is free, however many times you relist it.

What you chose to absorb — a delivery price lower than the real cost, a promotional discount — comes off your balance rather than being billed to you. It is money you decided to spend, but it is money.

Boosts are the one thing a seller buys outright, paid from the balance or a card, in fixed packs.

Not a fee, but it moves the number

Metzee Credits are promotional credit earned rather than bought, and can pay at most 25% of an item's price. They run out after 180 days without being earned or spent.

A refund returns what the buyer paid. If the commission was already taken, that is its own question, answered in the post below.

Questions people ask

Is there a fee for a sale that falls through?

No. An unpaid win costs the buyer a strike, not the seller a fee.

Does the buyer ever pay Metzee's commission?

No. It comes off the seller's side of the same sale.

Where do I see what was actually deducted?

In the balance, line by line, against the order it came from.

More: what it costs to sell, does it cost anything to list, is Metzee free to use, if I refund after the fee.
