No. Listing is free. You are not charged to create a listing, to run an auction, to schedule a show, or to relist something that did not sell.
Metzee takes a commission when something sells, out of what you receive. Nothing before that.
Why that matters for how you sell
Because it changes the arithmetic of trying things.
Relisting costs nothing. An item that did not sell can run again, at a different price, with a different photograph, as many times as you like. Can I relist something that did not sell?
A thin show costs nothing. Twelve items instead of forty is a shorter show, not a wasted fee.
An unsold auction costs nothing. No listing fee means a failed reserve is a lesson rather than a bill. It says the reserve was not met
That is deliberately different from a traditional auction house, where entry fees and unsold charges mean a seller has to be right first time.
Where a cost does arise
When something sells. A commission on the sale, with GST on that fee and the tax a marketplace is required to deduct. All of it is itemised on your earnings statement. What comes out of a sale
If you choose to promote. Boosts, banners and audience alerts are paid — by card, by credits, or out of your balance. Entirely optional, and a store that never promotes is never charged for it. How to boost a show
If you offer a discount. A code or a flash deal reduces what you receive, which shows on your statement as money you gave rather than a fee. How to run an offer
If a courier corrects a weight. If a parcel weighed more than you declared, the difference is charged afterwards. That is the courier's, not a Metzee fee — and it is avoidable by weighing the packed parcel. Why is a light thing costing so much to post?
To take part in a sale event, where one has an entry fee.
What is capped rather than charged
Buy-now listing slots. 5 at Starter, 10 at Verified, 20 at Pro, unlimited at Brand Partner. That is a limit, not a fee — you are not paying for slots, you earn more of them by selling. Auctions are not slot-limited the same way. How to get verified
And nothing is charged to the buyer either
No buyer's premium. The bid plus delivery is what they pay, which is worth saying on camera because buyers who have bought at auction houses assume otherwise. Is there a buyer's premium?
