Email is not switched on yet. That is the honest answer, and it saves you searching a spam folder for something that was never sent.
Metzee has the email templates built — a welcome, an order confirmation, a shipping notice, a delivery notice, and for sellers a new-order notice and a dispute notice. None of them is being sent, because the mail provider is not configured. It is on the list to switch on.
What carries everything instead
Notifications. In the app and on your device, and this is the channel the product actually runs on — a win, an outbid, a payment window, an order shipped, a show going live.
They are not a fallback for email. Email is the extra that is not there yet; notifications are the primary thing and always were. Notifications explained.
And the permanent record
Your orders list. Every purchase, its status, its invoice. Nothing there depends on a message arriving — if a notification is missed, the order is still there.
That is the thing to trust. A notification can be missed; an order cannot disappear.
If you are not getting notifications either
That is a real problem and worth fixing, because it is how you find out you have won something with a short window to pay.
- Check Metzee's notification permission in your phone's settings
- Check your in-app notification settings
- Open the app once — if a win is sitting in your orders unpaid, deal with that first
Note that there is no Android app to install yet either; Metzee runs in your phone's browser for now. Do I need the app?
What this means for you practically
Do not rely on being told. After a show you have bid in, open your orders. A win you did not notice has a payment window running, and nothing is going to land in your inbox to remind you.
That is a slightly annoying habit to need, and it is temporary. It is also the one that prevents a strike.
When email arrives
The templates above are what will start sending. They will be a convenience rather than a change in how anything works — the orders list will still be the record, and notifications will still be the thing that reaches you in time.
