Metzee makes this straightforward rather than hiding it, and the screen tells you every consequence before you confirm. This is that screen, written out, so you can decide before you get there.
Where it is
Profile → Security & account → Danger zone → Leave Metzee.
The warning above it is accurate: These actions are permanent and cannot be undone — with one important exception, below.
If you have a store, you get a choice first
You have a store, {store}. What would you like to do?
Close my store only— the store shuts,Your buyer account, wins and orders stay just as they are. AndReopen any time from Seller tools, so this is reversible.Delete my account—Your store and your buyer account both go.
Closing the store is the right answer far more often than deleting. If you are stopping selling, you do not have to stop buying.
What has to be finished first
You cannot leave in the middle of a transaction. The screen shows First, finish these and will not let you past until they are done — or Nothing is still open — you’re clear to go ahead. when there is nothing.
Open orders, unpaid wins, live returns. That is not an obstacle so much as the system refusing to leave somebody else holding your loose ends.
What you are told will happen
The screen lists it, and it is worth reading because it is more careful than most:
Your profile is hidden from everyone straight away- A grace period —
Your store and your buyer account both go. You have {n} days to change your mind. Sign in any time before then and tap Restore — everything comes back as it was. After {n} days: your name, phone, email, address, photos and saved details are erasedOrders stay on record for tax law, without your details— anonymised, not kept with your name on themYour reviews stay as you wrote them, without a link to you- For a seller:
Scheduled auctions are called off; pre-bids on them are cancelled, and followers stop seeing the store - If you are on anyone's team:
You leave {n} store teams — the owner is told
The one that surprises people
If you had strikes, they follow your phone number to any new account.
So deleting and re-registering is not a way to clear unpaid wins. Worth knowing before you do it for that reason, because it will not work and you will have lost your order history for nothing. Why was my account suspended?
Confirming
Type {word} to confirm, then Delete my account. Afterwards: Your account is set to be deleted.
The typing step exists because this is the one action nobody should be able to take with a mis-tap.
Before you do it
Two things worth five minutes:
- Download any invoices you might need. They go when your details go. How to download an invoice.
- Consider whether you mean it. If the reason is too many notifications, that is a settings screen. If it is one bad experience with one seller, that is a block or a report. How to change which notifications you get.
Questions people ask
Can I get it back?
Within the grace period, yes — sign in and tap Restore, and everything returns. After that, no.
What about money I am owed?
Finish anything open first; the screen enforces it. Do not delete an account with a payout pending.
Do my reviews disappear?
They stay as written, without a link to you.
Why are orders kept at all?
Tax law requires a record of a sale. Your details are removed from it.
