Eighteen. The terms say it plainly, and it applies to buying as well as selling.
Why it is firm
A bid is a contract. The whole format rests on a promise to pay, and a minor cannot be held to one.
Selling means a bank account, a PAN and a tax identity, all in the seller's own name. Those are adult documents.
Money and strangers. A live show is a person on camera talking to an unknown room. That is not a place to put a child.
What a younger maker can do
This comes up genuinely — a fifteen-year-old who makes good things and wants to sell them.
A parent opens the store, in their name. Their account, their bank account, their tax identity, their responsibility for every order. That is the honest arrangement and it is entirely allowed.
What is not allowed is a store in a parent's name that the child actually runs alone, because the responsibility has to sit with the person who can carry it.
They can be on the team. A store can add people to its team with roles — and if a parent judges it appropriate, a young person can help with listings or be on camera with them. The money stays with the owner regardless, which is exactly right here. Can two of us run one store?
They can learn the part that matters. Photographs, descriptions, packing, pricing. None of that needs an account.
What happens if an account is found to be underage
It is closed. Not as a punishment — it is simply not an account that should exist, and leaving it open exposes the young person and everyone trading with them.
If you know of one, report it under Safety / report someone.
For buying
Same age, same reasons. A parent buying for a child is ordinary and fine — the order is theirs, which also means the return route is theirs if something is wrong. Can I pay for someone else's win?
What Metzee does not do
It does not verify age documents. A phone number is verified; a birth date is not. So this rule rests on honesty, and on people reporting what they see.
That is worth knowing rather than glossing over — it means the rule is only as good as the people around it. How sellers are checked
More: what documents are needed, who can sell on Metzee, can I sell on behalf of somebody else.
