Clothing is the easiest thing on this site to post and the easiest to misquote when it goes out in bulk.
What decides it
Weight, and only when there is a lot of it. A shirt is nothing. Five shirts is still little. A winter coat or a box of denim is a real parcel, and a flat rate set for shirts will lose you money on the coat.
A weight rule with a sensible first slab handles the whole category. How delivery is charged.
The four options
Courier — the default, in a mailer with a sealed bag inside. Your own delivery — nice locally, rarely necessary. Pickup — for bulk lots. Buyer arranges — rarely.
Combining wins
Clothing combines about as well as anything on the site. Several wins from one show compress into one parcel, and combining is on by default with whatever you set for each later win.
This is worth saying in the show, because buyers in this category often want three things and will bid on the third if they know it ships with the first.
When collection is the honest answer
For large lots and for heavy winter items where the postage would be a significant share of the price. Agreed before bidding, with a collect-by window. How pickup works.
Damp
A sealed bag inside the parcel, always. Cardboard holds moisture against cloth and a damp garment arrives smelling of damp. Packing menswear.
Questions people ask
Can I use a plastic courier bag?
Yes, with a sealed bag inside it.
Should I include a hanger?
No. Weight and shape problems, no benefit.
What about shoes?
Boxed, and the shoe box goes inside the carton. Delivering sneakers.
