This is a plain reading of the terms. Where the two differ, the terms are the ones that count — this page is to help you understand them, not to replace them.
Who you are buying from
Independent sellers, not Metzee. Each seller is responsible for their listings, the item matching its description, posting it on time, and the tax and invoices for their sales.
Metzee provides the platform, takes payments on the seller's behalf, and helps resolve problems. Does Metzee own what is being sold?
Your account
You must be 18 or older. One verified mobile number belongs to one account, and you are responsible for what happens on it. How old do I have to be to sell?
You can delete it from Settings → Security. Records of past orders are kept as tax law requires, without your personal details.
Bidding and buying
A bid is a promise to buy at that price if you win. Winning bidders pay straight away — within 30 minutes, and at most 12 hours after a timed auction ends. Unpaid wins may be cancelled, count against your account, and be offered to the next bidder. Is a bid legally binding?
Prices include GST where the seller charges it, and shipping is shown before you pay.
You can cancel before it ships. After that, returns or disputes.
Returns and disputes
Each store sets its own returns policy, shown on its listings. Items that arrive damaged or not as described can always be reported through the order within the return window — whatever that policy says.
If buyer and seller cannot agree, Metzee reviews the evidence and decides. Refunds go back to the original payment method. How refunds work
Selling
Sellers pay a platform fee on item sales, plus GST on that fee, both shown in Seller Tools. Every seller needs a tax identity — a GSTIN, or an enrolment number for suppliers selling through a marketplace. Earnings become available after delivery and a short hold. What it costs to sell
What is not allowed
Counterfeit, stolen, illegal or dangerous items; things needing a licence you do not hold; bidding on your own items or asking others to; buying from your own store to inflate sales; fake or abusive reviews; harassment, hate or sharing others' personal details; moving a sale off the platform. Prohibited items explained
Metzee may remove content, cancel orders, hold payouts or suspend accounts that break these.
The limit worth knowing
Metzee is an intermediary rather than the seller, and its liability for any claim is limited to the fees it earned from the order concerned. Worth knowing beforehand rather than meeting it in a reply. Who do I complain to about Metzee?
Changes
The terms can be updated, and important changes are announced in the app. They are governed by the laws of India. How we change the rules
More: our privacy policy in plain words, what a seller is agreeing to, is Metzee safe to buy from.
