Should I bid with a seller who has no sales yet?
Often yes. What protects you regardless, and the four things to look at instead of a rating.

What is provenance?
Where a thing came from, and the trail that shows it. What counts as evidence and what only looks like it.

Who do I complain to about Metzee itself?
Not about a seller — about us. The front door, the escalation, and the routes that are not ours.

What happens to my data if Metzee shuts down?
A fair question with a partly unsatisfying answer. What is promised, what is not, and what you can do today.

What should a description actually say?
Four parts, in order, in under 2000 characters. The third one is the one that sells the next item too.

Can I use the manufacturer’s photo?
As one of six on a sealed new item. Never as the only one, and never on anything used.

How do I escalate a complaint?
Four steps, in order, and the two that people skip. Including where the statutory route sits.

Can a review be removed?
On narrow grounds only. What they are, and what a seller should do instead.

Can I leave a review?
Once an order is delivered. What it affects, and what cannot go in one.

Do I need ID to collect?
The app uses a code, not identity. What a seller may reasonably ask, and what they should not.

Can I see the bid history?
Yes, during and after. What each line shows, and the one thing deliberately hidden.

Can the seller see me?
No. Your camera is never used. What they actually see is a name and your bids.

How to report a seller or listing, step by step
Where the button is, the seven reasons, and what to write so it can actually be acted on.

Can I sell gold or precious metal?
Yes. Hallmarking is law rather than a Metzee rule, and the delivery risk is yours to manage.

Can I block a buyer?
Yes, per store. What it stops, what it does not, and when reporting is the better tool.

Can I see who I am bidding against?
Display names, yes. Who they are, no. And one thing nobody can see at all.

How to write a condition description, step by step
The five words the app gives you, what each one commits you to, and a template that prevents the dispute.

How to set your return policy, step by step
Three choices, what each commits you to, and the two rules no setting can switch off.

How to get verified, step by step
Two different things are called verification: the documents Metzee asks for, and the Verified tier. Here is each one.

How baby and child items are assessed
Three checks that come before any condition word, and one that can stop the sale.

Questions to ask before bidding on food or drink
Which date is it, what are the allergens, and how is it getting to me?

Questions to ask before bidding on beauty products
Show me the seal, the batch code and the dates. Then tell me where you bought it.

Questions to ask before bidding on baby and child items
Model number and date stamp. With those two you can do the one check nobody else can do for you.

Delivering food and drink: courier, local or collection
For most perishables, collection or local delivery is the only honest answer.
